Bank of America Neighborhood Builders
Bank of America is committed to funding community-based organizations in the areas where it does business. Its signature philanthropic program is called the Neighborhood Excellence Initiative. One part of this initiative is Neighborhood Builders, which gives $200,000 of general operating support over two years to two nonprofit or charitable organizations located in 45 different markets. (A listing of markets can be found here.) Since it began in 2004, Neighborhood Builders has awarded funds or provided leadership training to nearly 500 nonprofits. Areas of focus include education, community development/neighborhood preservation, arts and culture, and health and human services.
