Once you have completed these steps, email your SMART PREP Grant Program application to [email protected] or fax it to 1.403.228.2500. Your application will be evaluated by the SMART PREP Grant Program application committee.
SMART PREP Grants may only be applied to the suggested list price of eligible SMART products. It may not be used in conjunction with other price-reducing offers from SMART’s sponsors or government contracts. The grant amount and suggested list price will be confirmed upon grant approval. Your authorized reseller may add any applicable taxes, shipping, installation and training costs.

- SMART encourages applications for SMART PREP Grants from preservice teaching programs that support and stimulate innovative reforms and large-scale improvements in the preparation and certification of technology-proficient teachers.
- SMART PREP Grants are available to accredited, not-for-profit universities and colleges that provide preservice training to a minimum of 100 teachers per year. Training programs must lead to an education degree or professional teacher certification.
- SMART will also consider in-service teacher professional development programs that train a minimum of 100 teachers per year and are designed to improve teachers’ technological proficiency and ability to apply technology in the classroom.
The two steps to follow are:
- Complete the online application form. Due to the limited number of SMART PREP Grants, applications will be evaluated in the order they are received.
- Provide a minimum 250-word proposal that includes a brief narrative on the program's background and a description of how you intend to
- Engage teachers in developing new strategies for using technology
- Encourage active learner involvement and interaction through participation and feedback techniques
- Promote the development of integrated curriculum materials and curriculum design
- Stimulate innovative application of technology in the classroom
- Train teachers to use and integrate technology into curriculum
- Use each requested product for training teachers
