About the Foundation:
Incorporated in 1948 in DC.
The foundation is the legacy of Morris Cafritz, one of Washington's leading commercial and residential real estate builders from the early 1920's to the mid-1960's. He established the foundation in 1948. His wife, Gwendolyn, was Pres. of the foundation from 1964 to 1988.
Giving limited to the Washington, DC, area and the immediate surrounding counties in MD and VA, specifically Prince George's and Montgomery counties, MD, and Arlington and Fairfax counties, and the city of Alexandria, VA.
Purpose and ActivitiesThe foundation is committed to building a stronger community for residents of the Washington, DC area through support of programs in arts and humanities, community services, education, health and the environment.
